At 2:00 today, the Federal Reserve released the minutes of the monetary policy meeting, which mentioned: The growth of economic activity has slowed down in the first half of this year. Job growth slowed and the unemployment rate edged higher but remained low. Inflation has risen and remains somewhat elevated.

The meeting minutes responded to the two core issues that market participants are most concerned about - employment and inflation. In terms of employment issues, the Fed's view is consistent with the market's mainstream expectations, which believe that the unemployment rate is rising and the number of employed people is declining. The minutes attributed the change to an increase in the number of retired workers and a decrease in net migration.

In terms of inflation, the Federal Reserve believes that the situation is still severe and inflation is still at a high level. Looking at the technical trend, at the daily level, the U.S. dollar index is in a medium- to long-term short trend, but there are signs of bottoming and rebounding recently. The lows on July 1 and September 17 were 96.34 and 96.18 respectively, with similar prices, forming a double bottom structure. Since September 17, the U.S. dollar index has rebounded to a maximum of 99.05 points, approaching the 100 integer mark, hitting a new high since August 4, indicating a strong short-term rise.

From a monetary policy perspective, the Federal Reserve resumed interest rate cuts in September, which is negative for the U.S. dollar index. However, since the day of the interest rate cut, the US dollar index has continued to rise and has not been affected by the interest rate cut policy. The reason is that the dollar's rival currency, the euro, is also on the path to cutting interest rates. Moreover, the economic prospects of the Eurozone are worse than those of the United States. When market participants digest the bad news brought by Trump, the U.S. dollar index is expected to achieve a larger rise.
